Santa Ana agency created the in-store mobile experience to support Dole’s nutritional alliance with Star Wars

Amusement Park is helping one of the world’s leading providers of fresh fruits and vegetables in its quest for galactic nutrition.
The Santa Ana, Calif., integrated advertising and PR agency has completed the DOLE® App, the brand’s first in-store mobile experience designed to help parents rally their kids and families to eat and live healthier.
Now available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the DOLE App blast into hyperspace with “Unite for a Healthy Galaxy,” the latest chapter in Dole’s multiyear nutritional collaboration with Disney. Developed by Amusement Park for Dole, the 18-week healthy living initiative features character-inspired recipes, limited-edition banana stickers and a sweepstakes offering both produce and Star Wars fans the chance to win weekly prizes inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi, arriving in theaters Dec. 15.
“Dole wanted to transform the in-store experience as part of its long-term collaboration with Disney to make healthy eating – especially a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetable – more fun,” said Gabrielle Windsor, Amusement Park’s digital director. “Now, shoppers throughout the U.S. and Canada can scan DOLE® products to unlock and share photo filters, recipes and other unique content; receive special rewards; and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win one of 19 weekly prizes inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

According to Windsor, Amusement Park worked with Monster VR of Irvine, Calif., to create an experience offering the following special user features in support of Dole’s “Unite for a Healthy Galaxy”:
Ultimately, DOLE App users will be able to scan Star Wars: The Last Jedi characters Rey, BB-8, Chewbacca, RD-D2, C-3PO and others on assorted DOLE fruit and vegetable products in the U.S. and Canada through mid-February 2018 to receive the unique content. Among the products to be included are Bananas, Pineapples, Blueberries, Cauliflower, Celery, Celery Hearts and Classic Iceberg, Classic Romaine, Hearts of Romaine, Garden Salad, American Blend, Very Veggie and Shredded Lettuce salads and salad blends.
“Unite for a Healthy Galaxy” continues through mid-February 2018 with a dedicated microsite, sweepstakes, digital interactions, and blogger and social media programs adding to the intergalactic healthy-living celebration.
The app will continue past the “Unite for a Healthy Galaxy” campaign with new content and unlocks associated with future Dole initiatives.
